The aim of this program is to address the needs of families who are currently residing in or at risk of residing in unsafe, unregistered or insecure rooming houses. The program provides short to medium term case managed support aimed at assisting families to move out of inappropriate accommodation and to find long term private rental accommodation.
An AOF worker can help you to:
- Identify potential barriers that are currently preventing you from accessing long term appropriate rental accommodation.
- Assist you to establish your tenancy when you have found suitable accommodation.
For a referral to the Accommodation Options for Families program you should contact an Initial Assessment and Planning (IAP) worker who may be able to make a referral for you.
The AOF program may be suitable if you are ready to move in and maintain a property in the private rental market. If you have support needs that prevent you from maintaining a rental property at this time, an IAP worker may be able to refer you to a more suitable program.
WAYSS AOF services are funded to provide assistance to people in the Cities of Greater Dandenong, Frankston, Casey and the Shires of Cardinia and Mornington Peninsula.
