Key Responsibilities:

We have 2 challenging and rewarding opportunities within our Women's Services programs supporting woman experiencing family violence (18 month contract positions).

  •  Are you passionate about empowering clients?
  •  Do you have relevant experience as an Intake Worker?
  •  Are you looking to work independently as part of a small team?
  •  Do you have relevant knowledge and experience in supporting clients dealing with family violence to access the legal system?
  •  Do you have demonstrated client assessment, advocacy and referral experience in a family violence context?
  •  Do you have an understanding of homelessness and its causes?

In this role you will provide intake assessment, information, advocacy, referral and interim case management support to single women and single women with children who are experiencing homeless or are at risk of homelessness to maximise their ability to live independently.

WAYSS is a well respected provider of homelessness and support services to clients who are experiencing homelessness or at risk of homelessness. Your terms and conditions are in accordance with the WAYSS Enterprise Agreement including 5 weeks annual leave and immediate access to generous salary packing arrangements which allow you to maximise your take home pay.

About the Role: You will be the first point of contact with young people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness who are seeking support, which could include a crisis response. Your focus will be on assessing their circumstances and needs. You will provide information, support and referral to encourage and facilitate engagement with relevant internal and external programs and services.

The Program: Through developed pathways, the service aims to increase a capacity to live independently, through improving access to long term secure and affordable housing, to secure income support and to a range of social supports. This includes the provision of a case managed approach based on individualised support plans to assist young people to reach their full potential. WAYSS Youth Support Program provides options and assistance to young people aged 16 to 25 years who are homeless or at risk of homelessness. Support can extend to include young people who are in their own accommodation, moving around, or in community housing.
