The Social Housing Advocacy and Support Program (SHASP) works with people who are currently living in or moving into a public housing property.
We aim to provide support to public housing tenants and residents in order to assist them to establish and or maintain their public housing by providing individual case managed support. A support worker can help you to:
- Identify and address underlying issues that may place your tenancy at risk of breakdown. (eg: rent arrears, inside and outside property condition issues.)
- Support you to actively participate, where possible, to achieve identified goals, thus increasing your independence and ensuring the tenancy is sustainable.
- Maintain your current public housing property and prevent you becoming homeless.
You can contact us yourself.
Your Office of Housing worker may refer you.
The program provides outreach support and can arrange appointments within the catchment of the Dandenong and Frankston Office of Housing offices.
WAYSS SHASP services are funded to provide assistance to people in the Cities of Greater Dandenong, Frankston, Casey and the Shires of Cardinia and Mornington Peninsula.
